2011 Camaro Convertible too far away? Bring your Camaro to NCE.

Posted by: admin In: Main ()

We’ll be seeing Camaros of all modified varieties at SEMA 2009, but this one by Newport Convertible Engineering, a convertible conversion specialist, should be among the more unique cars. That’s because NCE’s SEMA Camaro will be minus its factory roof!

HERE are photos of the NCE Camaro SS Convertible going through the final stages of its conversion to a drop-top Camaro. Aside from the obvious loss of the its roof, some of this SS’s backseat area has been sacrificed for the mechanism powering the canvas folding top. And since it is now without its top and the rigidity that it provides, extra reinforcements have been made to the windshield frame, rear quarter panel and the backside of the trunk. Conversions are expected to take 4-6 weeks.

The latest indications from GM signal that the Camaro Convertible will go on sale in the Spring of 2011, but for anyone who can’t possibly wait that long, there’s now a more immediate option (albeit likely more costly).
