2011 Camaro to come in HYDRO BLUE & OLYMPIC WHITE

Posted by: admin In: Main

A site member is reporting that Hydro Blue and Olympic White are new colors that will be coming to the 2011 Camaro and will be available starting Fall 2010. Both colors were available on some other GM cars, such as the Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice.

The internet is abuzz with speculation that the special looking silver Camaro on the floor of the SEMA show (seen HERE), is actually the look of the upcoming Camaro Z28. That would make sense as this Camaro is in GM’s exhibit and its front bumper greatly resembles the bumblebee Camaro, which has been confirmed [...]

Here’s a preview of Drop Top Customs’ Camaro Convertible SS which will be showing at the SEMA show next month. For anyone interested, this custom conversion costs approximately $18,000. This is the second builder to produce a Camaro convertible. The other was custom built by NCE.
For now, these custom Camaro convertibles will [...]

It’s here! A production version of the Chevy Camaro Convertible is being privately shown to Chevy dealers this week. As a Camaro5 member reports here, at least one production model was shown in Detroit yesterday — a red jewel tint coat convertible with gray interior. It was being mobbed by the dealers [...]

And the rumormill churns Just as we finish writing about the masses’ speculation of the LSA engine in the upcoming Camaro Z28, we now read something interesting in the September 09 Super Chevy Magazine issue’s interview with Al Oppenheiser, Chief Vehicle Engineer of the Camaro. In the interview, Mr. Oppenheiser is asked [...]

Forced induction kits and systems continue to proliferate and many tuners and members are now putting together some seriously potent Camaros! ADM Performance has put together a TVS2300 supercharger based kit which down more than 600rwhp and 560rwtq (achieved on 100 octane gas). They have shared a video of the dyno run. [...]

A not insignificant number of V8 L99 engined Camaro owners have reported sluggish acceleration and seemingly underperforming power from their cars. These owners’ experiences not only relied on the old “butt dyno” but were borne out in timed acceleration runs showing slower-than-official estimated acceleration times.
Recently, member Scott@Bjorn3d’s L99 based Camaro was examined by GM [...]

Custom painted Camaros get ever more creative

Posted by: admin In: Main

It certainly hasn’t taken long for all different styles of custom paint jobs to appear on the 2010 Camaro. Abrahmend’s Camaro SS certainly is one of the more unique ones we’ve seen yet. His Camaro underwent a complete body repaint (except for the doors) and the result is a silver Camaro with black [...]

Although we didn’t get to see a production Camaro convertible at this morning’s GM live webcast as we had hoped, GM has in the follow-up session officially confirmed that the production of the 2011 Camaro convertible will begin in the second quarter of 2011! This is slightly later than the previously estimated Q1 production [...]

To our (and I’m sure your) dismay, the 2011 Camaro convertible was not shown during the approximately hour long GM webcast which just concluded at 9AM EST. There was also no mention of it by GM CEO Fritz Henderson. It appears that either we were provided bad information and the convertible was not [...]

GM’s President and CEO, Fritz Henderson, is set to host a live webcast tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM EST in which he will be providing updates on GM’s current state and making several product announcements/updates. However, GM held a pre-webcast event today from which it was reported that the 2011 production Camaro convertible was [...]

The 2011 Camaro convertible continues to be spotted while testing in Australia. The latest sightings within the past week comes after a hiatus of nearly 7 months (last major sighting was back in January 2009), although not much seems to have changed on the exterior. The latest convertibles spotted are however different preproduction [...]

Finally! The last of the initially announced 2010 Camaro colors has been spotted in both Mexico and Oshawa! HERE are photos of a white Camaro at a Mexican dealership, before and after striping, whited-out bowtie, blacked out tail panel, and a aluminum gas cap cover. The black rally stripes are a beautiful [...]

2011 Camaro — what would you like to see?

Posted by: admin In: Main

2011 Camaro: What would you like to see added or revised? Sure, the 2011 Camaro won’t be on sale until sometime later next year, but this is nonetheless an interesting (and fun) question being discussed by our members. Some may consider this a purely academic question, but if there’s anything we’ve learned from [...]

GM recently announced the Transformers Edition of the 2010 Camaro. Some of you indicated that you were not interested in the entire package, but perhaps individual pieces of the package. GMPartsDirect now has for sale the separate Transformers Edition components: side fender emblem, wheel centercap, center console, door sill plates and hood stripes.
