I'm gearing up to install a set of Sparco Evo seats into my 2010 SS.
BUT reading through the manual is making me extremely nervous because of all the electronic nannies associated with the front seats. Here are the four items that came up during my investigation:
1) Side seat air bags
2) Pre-tensioners
3) Passenger presence system
4) Driver & passenger seat belt alarms
There's a lot of discussion on the side seat air bags and I've ordered up a couple of "simulators" from this place: http://www.airbagsystems.com/simulator.html
But what needs to be done with the other three items?
The pre-tensioners are connected to the stock seat buckle (from what I can see in the manual) and are probably not a big deal.
It's the passenger presence system and the seat belt alarms that worry me. If the passenger seat is removed and the presence system not engaged, then won't the passenger air bag not function? Also, won't the seat belt alarms go off? Maybe with the seats removed, these functions become defunct?
If you've replaced your front seats, please advise how these (other) nannies are affected.
I'm also interested in keeping the stock seat belts cause I don't want to run the harness all the time and I plan to put in a removable harness bar. Is this an option??
Thanks
