My first camaro was a 73 with a 355 small block, turbo 350 3,000 stall and a 12 bolt posi with 4:88's. It went 12.90 @ 105 mph.
My second camaro was a 69 with a L78 and a 4 speed Muncie. 12 posi with 4:56. It was pretty quick, never had it to the track but I'm sure it was a low 12 or high 11 second car.
Third camaro was a clone 69 RS/Z28, when I was finished with it. I had put a 427 Big block 540 HP on pump gas motor in it. ATI turbo 400 with a 3,500 stall and a 12 bolt posi with 4:11's. In the summer of 2001 at CarCraft nationals here in Minnesota, I was awarded the cover car shot, and feature inside. Does get any better then that. The best time I ran was 11.55 @ 119 mph.
Forth was a full all out drag car. 81 tube chassis with only the roof and rear quarters being steel, every thing else was glass. 810 hp 555 BBC, glide and a dana 60 in the rear. Went to the finals first time out. Best time 8.76 @ 161 mph. Now that's a ride.
I was going to buy a new RS/SS2 black camaro with a stick, but I lost my job. I still have some cash from selling the racecar. Maybe I'll buy a 1st or early 2nd gen camaro, until I am employed again.
