I installed the GM subwoofer kit. It was easy. A wiring harness makes it a plug and play job. The twin 10" powered subs cleanly intercept the rear speaker signals. The Sub already had a low pass filter in it anyway.. one only needs to unplug the speakers, plug in the Y tap, which allows the stock or BA system frequencies get to the sub amp too. The 2x10"s are mounted facing rearward, and use the trunk as a folded horn design where it "ports" past the SKI passthrough This gives the good bass due to the the longer path that the bass has to travel, like a long tuned port for bass response. There is a volume control behind the rear seats, The power tap is directly to the trunk mounted battery + terminal and the battery chassis ground. The amp is turned on by a circuit that detects a signal input...no seperate "amp on" line.
It allows lots of bass. GREAT sound. In the sealed coupe, 200 watts RMS is plenty. MY 5000 CHARACTER POST WOULDN'T FIT. DETAILS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.

GM subwoofer kit came in in today. Wish me luck with "owner installed option" to the BA system. I hope it isn't too hard to wire in. Like everything else G.M. ...it costs BIG BUCKS for 2 10"s...but don't want to showhorn something non-OEM in...not while under warranty.

2010 SS BUMBLE B 21" w/ P-zeros....wish I'd asked the dealership what rubber cost first...and why only Pirrelli got the G.M. kick-back for exclusivity with the W.T.F. 21"s. Anyone ever heard of any other tire company making 21's for it?
