It came with little bolts with large washers. I took the heat shield off using a speciel tool or using two fingers very gently. I put the holes in the shield with a phillips screw driver. The bolts also came with cap nuts for a nice finished look. Took about 20 minutes but be very careful with the heat shield very delicate and shows all marks.
