thats just my gas not my wifes bill. between the 2 of us we burned through 700 bucks, none of which is written off or paid for. just going to and from work and normal living stuff.

What torques me is that at the end of the quarter the oil companies will show "record profits". yeah, no kidding. really? It's nothing but pump-rape.

Question: If the gas station down the street made a mistake at the pump and the gas was going for .40 (40 Cents) how many of you would fill up???

DangerZL1 04-04-2011 04:36 PM

I realize you got to pay to play and fuel expense is part of the price of ownership of driving a fun car. It's a topic that's almost like the weather..."wow did you see what gas went up to today?" is a common conversation starter where I work. When you put $50 into a fill up, it's hard not to get at least a little frustrated or think about other things you'd rather spend the money on. If you don't drive very far to work it doesn't hit you so hard, but it adds up when you drive 220+ miles a week like I do. I almost always check the prices at my usual fill up place every day on the way to work. It's kind of like trying to not look at a wreck when you're driving by one.

I didn't pay a dime for gas at the gas station I fill up at. ;)

Kurushio 04-04-2011 04:47 PM

3.79 for reg for me. Glad i filled up at 3.60 a few days ago and i think they may have switched blends because i seem to be getting an extra mile per gallon and i havent really changed my driving habits. Maybe the car also likes temps in the 60's more than the 30's lol.

AlohaBR 04-04-2011 04:58 PM

Just looked at the station next door..3.78/ gal.
Tank lasts me 3 days with some left over, 4 if I take it to the brink.
Heck of a lot cheaper to fill this though than my van was.
Filling this...@15 gallons
Filling van...@26-30 gallons
Same amount of miles!

ffrcobra_65 04-04-2011 05:40 PM

I paid $4.50/gallon last Friday and worth every penny!

Ladybugsmom 04-04-2011 05:42 PM

I said in an earlier post I was gonna go fill up because gas had actually gone down. Well, went back with the Camaro (had taken the SUV earlier) and over a 2 HOUR time span, they raised the price 4 cents. In TWO HOURS! Maybe the previous price was a mistake?

Bonemaro 04-04-2011 05:44 PM

Yep no question the middle east have America by the balls and they no this.

Kermit1 04-04-2011 06:32 PM

Y'all know there is no shortage of oil. We are driving less but certain markets are growing (outside the U.S.). Just remember all this at the voting booth folks. Washington is not looking out for us, just themselves. Who spends millions for a 6 figure job that they are rarely there to do. They all are getting richer and have much better healthcare than all of us. Am I pi$$ed, you bet and you should be also......

I've been getting better mileage since late March.

we all knew this would happen. As the economy recovers so will gas prices. sucks though. But if you think ours is high check out different countries overseas. US is not the highest.

Turkey-9.63
Greece-8.50
Belgium-8.17

Some good info on gas prices and distribution.
