I was planning on doing terminal leave around late May or June but the Superintendent who I'm friends with wants me to close out my career at the Indiana State Fair which runs August 1-17 and my last day is the 19th. Hope to get about $5k for that which will be for my camation mod. :thumbup:, I'll have my DROP check in excess of $120K and since 15K of that is tax free I plan to get myself a nice beater as my daily driver and keep Red Storm for the nice days of retirement and yes, we're thinking of relocation to a warmer climate like a Savannah, GA :clap2:

See...that's the way you do it!
I plan on doing 30 and doing a three year drop back...get a GOOD check (most guys who go into this and plan correctly get about 300k. I need to do a sit down with the retirement guys from our association to get set up now. But, we get to sell back 15 sick days a year...and with the 10-99, that comes out to about $4,400 for me. I screwed up this year and accidentally put down 5 days instead of 15. UGH!!! I really, REALLY needed that money for Christmas and our upcoming cruise. But, yeah....I want to put in 30. Get my dropback check and retire at 87.5%. Pay off the house, cars, bills, and enjoy life.
Sounds like you are going to have a NICE check to have some fun with. I'd also like to have a beater. Gotta make sure the Camaro stays clean and in the garage when it rains and take that beater to and from. Dang....34 years.... :clap:

I wish I knew too. I'd do so much stuff. I have ideas stuffed into this brain of mine and the only way I can do anything is draw it. That's how the original circle 5 was made. I was in the hospital with a guy under arrest (intox assault) and as I sat there waiting for hours, I broke out the pen and paper. I drew up the circle 5 (and three other designs) kind of like a baseball uniform style idea and Joe went to work. He created the entire image...all the choppyness and all. Pretty slick. I'd take a class or two if I had the time to learn more. Would be fun.

You know looking at the camaro on the sleeve, if you ever want to change it up, you could take that last 'O' and make it the '5' also. The bottom of the 5 could also be the O or take the O and put the top of the five on it...... Just a change up.
