For people who dont even want to go the LED route, or arent handy enough to do it, you can probably just paint the stock lens and leave a strip unpainted, using stock bulbs.

Wouldnt be as bright, and even, but would still look much better than stock IMO.

If you're gonna remove them to paint the lens, might as well go on eBay and get the little push in T10 LED bulbs.

LEDs only

I followed your blue print but switched it up a bit. I bought some clear lenses and put strips of 6 leds in each. I painted the lenses as you did and then put tint film over top. I went with white LEDs in the front.

Do you already have LED sidemarkers from Oracle and you're doing this to your factory markers that you removed? I'm just trying to understand why they're in an Oracle box.

I bought an extra set of OEM side markers from another member and he shipped them in that box...:D

Any suggestions on how to split the sidemarker apart? I did the baking thing. Ended up warping one of them.

Saint Alban 02-22-2012 01:31 PM

Maybe a dremel? Or maybe theres a specific temperature. Mach would know.

Grimlock 02-22-2012 01:41 PM

I did 200 degrees for 10 minutes and then a second time when it got tough again.

I put mine in at 140 for like 10 mins. Anything more you will warp them. Sucks to hear.

The easiest way to split them is warm them up then take a fresh utility knife and start scoring the part where the lens meets the gray plastic over and over again. Until they break apart.
