Volt price being dropped.

GM announced the Volt base price will be dropped 12% to make them more competitive. Base will be $34k and after tax rebate it will be $27k. At that price I could picture the wife buying one.

great move ! good job GM !

FenwickHockey65 08-05-2013 11:35 PM

Good move indeed.

This is good news.
I was considering the Volt, but the price was a little high for me.

That's still too much.

FenwickHockey65 08-06-2013 12:34 AM

No it's not. It's right in line with what everyone else is doing.

$23,986.95 out the door would be more like it.

12% is a lot and that's gotta take a big chunk out of their profits for that vehicle.

I hope they didn't cut any corners to make up the difference.

christianmotox 08-06-2013 01:48 AM

That is a nice drop in price.

I have a question - if a volt is in an accident is it referred to as a short afterwards ;)

j/k this is good news means this market is possibly maturing and the cost are coming down or is GM trying to prop up sales to keep from killing it off?

And completely unrealistic.

Cadillac is releasing the ERL. A luxury version and that will have a high price tag around $60k. That's where they make their money.

Probably a combination of both.
