Blacking Out the Tail Lights, Head Lights, Side Lights.

What is the Washington State law on blacking out the head lights, tail lights, and side lights. Oh yeah and the window tinting? I've called the DOT (dept. of transportation) in the state of Washington and no one can give me a direct answer but if i was to make these mods to my Camaro and their illegal the Cop (Mustang Lovers) won't hesitant to write me a ticket.:paddle: for riding illegal! So can someone help me out with this issue please?:help:

I did it only a week ago. The tint is from RPI, and it's not dark enough to make any real difference once the brake lights are on. I've seen plenty of other cars blacked out. Screw the Washington cops. Same for no front plate.

It's actually a pretty subtle mod on a black car. But don't kid yourself, cops will always have their eye on cars like this. So far, so good. I won't change it even if they give me a ticket.

Funny. I was eating a sandwich at a strip mall where they do window tinting, they pulled a car outside in the sunlight and appeared to be talking to the owner - you know, informational stuff. Looked like 15-20% (35% is the legal limit in NC). Kid started it up, pulled away and within 50 ft. cops nailed him. He was so pissed. I unfortunately don't have unlimited funds, so I went with legal tint. I think lights have to be visible for 500 ft (NC)..

You can find your states laws on line. Good Luck.

Below is a picture of the GUN SMOKE (12% tint) material on the tail lights. It's enough to notice, but you can still see the red of the lens thru the material with the brake lights off. Plus they are removable if a police officer is giving you a difficult time.
