FI Sound :D

What do you all prefer. The Supercharger whine or the Turbos sound?

SinisterEcho 03-22-2013 02:31 PM

Im not biased! I love the sound of both!

J_Vibe92 03-22-2013 02:32 PM

is the supercharger sound loud though? like when you shift you can hear the turbo big time but ive never really heard the superchager outside the cabin

Nutbutt 03-22-2013 02:33 PM

It depends on the supercharger and how it's configured. Some are louder than others, same as a turbo's BOV.

BaylorCamaro 03-22-2013 02:36 PM

My exhaust is way too loud to hear the supercharger while inside the car. You can however hear the BOV.

J_Vibe92 03-22-2013 02:36 PM

yeah i know. I just really want people to hear it. I want people to know and fear it :p

lol im just all excited cause im ready to put down to money. i just need tune money and instal money. I would love to do it myself though. are supercharger or turbo installs really difficult?

BaylorCamaro 03-22-2013 02:50 PM

Supercharger would be easier to install. There a several people that have done the IPF system in their garage in a day or two. And one or two who have done the RX system. I personally did not install mine. Turbo, especially the mid mount twin turbo would be more difficult. Depends how good you are with a wrench and how confident you feel about doing it.

Oh by the way, I see you're in Houston. What part? You can see my system if you'd like. I'm in Kemah (South East side).

Turbo FTW.

Im in the north side by the woodlands/spring area. ill be there the 2nd week of may. we should totally meet up. i wanna ride in one badly before buying

hunterv6 03-22-2013 03:07 PM

like them both but favor the turbo

JohnnyBfromPeoria 03-22-2013 03:09 PM

Mine sounds like a jet engine at around 2000 rpm. People turn to look at the car when I drive by. Personally, I think the blow-off valve sounds a bit odd though, since it isn't really blowing off, per se. It is recirculating the air back into the intake tube, pre-compressor.

The IPF set up recirculates yes. The RX system is actually a blow off set up, since the MAF is past the valve. Where as the IPF set up's MAF sensor is pre charge and thus air is measured before the blow off valve.
