ARH 1 7/8" + MAGNAFLOW 3" = ADM ROCKS - LOUDLY!

After reading about Sack Rat's recent upgrades and the performance gains he realized, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade the EVIL RS. Re-upgrade? Well, yeah, ADM had installed the MagnaFlow cat-back 2.5" system about 4K miles ago... but knowing that a 427 package is in my future (which we didn't at the time of the 2.5" installation), I figured why not upgrade to the MagnaFlow 3" exhaust system w/a true X-Pipe center piece, along with having the 1 7/8" American Racing Headers (I had them ceramic coated to boot!) As it turned out, ADM was/is offering a package deal for these goodies, so Merry early-Christmas to me!

Since I had EVIL RS in the shop anyway, I went for a few other upgrades too. Here's the complete list:

- American Racing 1 7/8" Headers
- MagnaFlow 3" Exhaust w/X-Pipe center piece
- Ceramic Coating for AR Headers
- LPE Flanges for Headers & Exhaust
- Stretched Rear Rims w/Pirelli 305 / 35 / 20 Tires (we moved my original backs to the front, then sent the fronts off to be stretched.)
- BMR Lower Control Arms
- ADM Custom Gauges (one for the ambient temp in the air box, and one for the transmission pressure)

(Items previously installed by ADM)
- ADM Performance Cold Air Intake
- ADM 160 Degree Thermostat

Talk about an incredible sound, the 3" MagnaFlow exhaust and X-Pipe combo are just plain nasty. I freaking love it! The wider rims and tires look awesome and combined with the BMR control arms and wider rims on the front, I really like the handling and ride of the car.... not that I didn't before, but somehow the car is even better now. Andy will be tweaking the tune tomorrow and (hopefully!) I'll have dyno results to share as a result... but my butt dyno is already telling me everything that I need to know!

These upgrades really complete the picture for me and they set me up beautifully for the future-planned 427 engine. I couldn't be happier with the work Andy and the ADM Performance team did. They always do excellent work, but this particular end result (with the flanged exhaust, ceramic headers and downright nasty sound) is downright awe-inspiring for me... I fall asleep in the garage tonight! :iono:

Clean start - no gas peddle... followed by 2k rev, 2k rev, a short period of 1.5k rev, then some idling before shut down. It's late here and I didn't want to wake the neighbors (or my kid, his bedroom borders our garage!) but it gets a lot louder when you get on the peddle!

PS - Look at those FAT back tires baby!

Sounds awesome, can't wait to hear it opened up!!

Where and how much did it cost to get the wheels modded?

Sounds good. Need another video when you're not worried about waking up the neighborhood :)

Nice setup, sounds good! I think this will be the combo I go with when my car arrives. +1 for another vid.

Another video demonstrating the new MagnaFlow 3" X-Pipe Exhaust System with 1 7/8" American Racing Headers. This time with some better rev's since I didn't have to worry about waking the neighborhood!

Initial start and idle, followed by two rev's to 2.5K rpm, followed by a rev to about 4K rpm, followed by a ramp up to about 3K rpm, followed by idle and shut down. It's about 32 degrees here today, so you gotta love the effect of smoke coming from the pipes!

Are you sure that is not oil blowing out your tail??? Anyway, glad you are pleased and the rear view of your car is so much better with the aggressive wheel/tire package and being rid of the factory mufflers. I like it. :chevy:

Sounds good.
Not too loud on start up and and idle (keep the neighbors happy), but nice and aggressive when you open her up.

Sweet setup!! this is exactly what i want to do!

I have a question about where the headers connect to the exhaust, In ADM 2 " header and magnaflow set up they have it weilded together i think. so now in the 1 7/8 header and magnaflow setup i think you said that you have "LPE Flanges for Headers & Exhaust" is that for a bolt up connection ?

And I can wait to see your numbers!! please post Dynograph when you get a chance!
