Z28 suspension on SS
Will the Z28 suspension be available for our SS in the future or will GM not allow this.

IMHO there is no need for that. We have the 1LE, which shares some ZL1 technology, and it is the best bang for the buck performance model going, just sayin'....

im pretty sure GM will be willing to sell any Camaro owners the parts that they put on the Z/28 for a nice premium.
Without hearing more it is hard to say. But didnt Leno mention that parts should be available? Thought i remember hearing that |
Looks like people have started to collect Z/28 part numbers

Lol OP, have you been through every brand of suspension for the SS yet?

Im thinking a Pedders full justice roadcourse package with Pedders ZL1 sways and Pedders adjustable camber links are at least as good if not better. Probably not as comfy but who gives? I costs a ton but is worth every penny.

One other thing to consider is the suspension has all the track settings tweaked in its stability and traction programs. So its not just the hard parts themselves that are part of the package but the electronic portion which would be basically impossible to integrate.
The parts themselves will definitely be available though but they will likely have spotty availability and cost a pretty penny. Not sure how much the mounting/frame could be different though at this point. I do like the high/low speed adjustability the coilovers are supposed to offer. And I will be setting up my diff to mirror its setup. I'm very curious about the hubs/bearings/spindles, same as ZL1/1LE or a bigger upgrade from the SS? I would say a complete pedders/pfadt suspension will get you very close. If you give up a bit of performance it will be outside the abilities of 99.99% of drivers who own a camaro anyways so they wouldn't miss it. The smart money would be going towards an excellent wheel/tire combo that is lightweight. Upgraded fluid coolers for everything. Then the best brakes you can get. I'll hold onto my 6-pistons until the carbon ceramics fall off a truck and find their way into my hands for a reasonable price. If I had unlimited funds I'd have me one of these, check out the OS Giken posi http://www.osgiken.net/products.php?product=lsd |

Something Chevy and team Camaro has been doing very well with this generation of Camaro is offering performance parts off of premium models as retrofits for the less expensive cars later.
I don't think the Z/28 will be any different... |

If you are going for high end suspension there is a whole step up like Ohlins, Motons, Penskes, etc. The pedders, pfadt, etc are decent but not on the same level as the high end stuff.
