BRAND NEW 2009/2010 Camaro INTERIOR SPYSHOTS (MAY '08)

3 Attachment(s)
Posted on homepage blog. These photos are the latest to emerge of the preproduction Camaro’s interior. The quality (fit & finish) appear to be upgraded over previously spied interior photos. The design appears to have remained mostly the same (and fairly true to concept form). What we’d most like to see are how the entire dash looks lit-up! Maybe soon…

I Love it, I Really Love it. The interior is starting to really come together and by the time the interior is fully finished, i think we will be quite surprised.

Kyle2k 05-15-2008 01:38 PM

Wow....I am literally speechless

punkdrum01 05-15-2008 01:44 PM

Whats up with the display on the passenger side???? Thats definately new!!!! Looking much better than the last spy shots.....can't wait to see the finished product!!!!

JaysonAych 05-15-2008 01:45 PM

I wasn't a big fan of that steering wheel, but seeing it here in a more-finished state, it's starting to grow on me.

The wheels are a lot smaller then the concepts. Look at all that sidewall.

Looking very retro...... in a good way of course

scaz 05-15-2008 02:08 PM

why does the radio have to stick out so far. Defently replacing that. shifter looks very simple, cheap, and doorky. Can't wait to see a manual.

TheMadHatter99 05-15-2008 02:08 PM

Liking it, just wish we could see the manual shifter...

MattG 05-15-2008 02:08 PM

Was hoping for a pushbutton start instead of a key ignition on the column. Oh well. Rest looks like it's coming together nicely.

bigralph 05-15-2008 02:08 PM

I love it.

2010_5thgen 05-15-2008 02:09 PM

It looks pretty good! I'm excited to finally see everything together.

briannutter 05-15-2008 02:11 PM

what, no Sun Tach on the column held on by a hose clamp?

rickb203 05-15-2008 02:12 PM

Im loving the gage package reminiscent of my 69 pace car package!!

Warghost 05-15-2008 02:13 PM

Looks great. I was always a fan of the interior, and it's getting better every time I see it. However, I'm not a fan of the 20MPH increments on the speedo. Is this the final version of the gauges? I am really liking the blue color of the gauges, but I was really hoping they'd go back to 10MPH increments. Other than that, it looks awesome!

radz28 05-15-2008 02:16 PM

I LOVE IT!!! I don't usually like ricer stuff, like indiglo gauges, but I think those are really nice :D I think everything is coming together pretty good.

In addition, I like the rear facia diffuser. The tips stick out funny in one of those shots, but I'm sure they'll be fixing that.

I think this may be a base car because the wheels look only to be 16s or 17s and the brake calipers are pretty small in comapison to the 'Ring versions that have been posted.

Nice catch; I was about to post those up when I noticed you already did ;D

fmdog44 05-15-2008 02:21 PM

Where the heck is the parachute botton?!

boxmonkeyracing 05-15-2008 02:23 PM

I like it. where's the manual? lol

Also what yall are calling a passenger side "display" im fairly certain is just a card with "Airbag Disabled" printed on it and then taped to the dash.

carfansince73 05-15-2008 02:30 PM

Brenda's crew should have brought a big rock to take of the glare on that window. :paddle:

Tran 05-15-2008 02:33 PM

Post 7 has exterior shots.

No_Quarter 05-15-2008 02:33 PM

I love that interior.

Thank god the wheels are smaller. They were a little too big for me.

To me it looks there are buttons, probably for volume, on the spokes of the steering wheel. I LOVE the way the steering wheel looks.
The gauges look beautiful too.
I dont remember seeing these buttons in front of the shifter in previous shots of the interior.
Anyone know what these could be?

It might be for lights, or the Magnetic ride control...whatever they do - They're cool buttons!!! :D

carfansince73 05-15-2008 02:44 PM

I hope they positioned the E-brake where the passenger won't hit their arm on it when getting in the car, but I guess that's better than the driver. ;)

rray200 05-15-2008 02:45 PM

The wheel and tire combo doesn't do much for me. And as I recall from the 6 minute Nurburgring video, they had a V8 car on the track with those skinny tires and rims. Godawful. Unacceptable even for a V6 car. Put some meaty 275s all the way around for the V8 car.

Cyberstyx 05-15-2008 02:46 PM

It shaped up pretty nice!

Auto-shift looks a bit "weird" though. Can't w8 to see a manual shift auto.

I like the Radio-CD bit too, rly unique and rly nice. Can't see how a 1-din motorized touch screen would fit there - anywhere (kinda obsesed with getting one for music/navigation, Athens is a hardcore maze riddle)

This new breath of car info made me feel a lot better idd.

DGthe3 05-15-2008 02:47 PM

I like the interior. Things are comming along nicely. I also like the smaller wheels -I prefer to have a bit of sidewall on them.

Did anyone notice the little red light in the slit on the nose? Reminds me of KITT.

Oh, one other thing:notheadlights:

smokn' 05-15-2008 02:53 PM

i like it

Yeah my co-worker noticed that too, I suspected a tailight reflection but it was funny when he said that to me.

I love the interior, coming along as I had wished, looking beautiful!
The exterior shots look great with a shiny black camaro! Once again, I can't wait!!!! :mad0259:

LS9CamaroSS 05-15-2008 03:01 PM

it looks like it should... i just hope that those gauges down by the shifter are functional... i want the front "vent" removed... it isn't functional give me something like we saw with the accessories pics... Those tires are too small... i hope they offer 18's or 19's as an accessory... i love it though

Lasers (front mounted for traffic and rear mounted for blasting the Mustangs that are behind it.) :paddle:

Warghost 05-15-2008 03:09 PM

Those buttons in front of the shifter are the door lock/unlock buttons. I think. :D

Cyberstyx 05-15-2008 03:10 PM

Managed to miss the exterior shots, prolly a post while I was posting too.

That black shiny color is a bit confusing to me. It somehow manages to make me miss the curves of the nice body, especially the back part.

Certainly don't like the size of the rims/tires. Gief huge rims and slim/wider tires.

The signal lights look rly... ordinary. I guess a Bumblebee signal light would be out ofthe question, would not be visible in daylight, but I hope for a better future design.

Oh, and they are missing the "Camaro" word on the side. Gief!

And what IS that thing sticking out of the car at the back? Looks like the driver stuffed in the trunk an old man he accidentaly run over with reverse, and a bit of his walking-helper is sticking out ^^

simmer down there buddy... these aren't final production pics... no bells and whistles on this one just yet... wait until September and then pass judgment on what you'll do to it... that pipe is most likely for testing something...

Maddog78 05-15-2008 03:23 PM

Looking good.
I'm going manual too so looking forward to seeing what that will look like.
I'm going to try and swing the "top dog" model so I'm sure the rubber will be plenty big enough.

Sphinx002 05-15-2008 03:30 PM

The brake is just wrong to me.....but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The interior shots are ok, but don't tell me a lot about what my upgraded Z/28 is going to look like. I don't like the buttons on the stereo. They remind me of the old GM non CD radio that was in all GM's cheap cars (think Astro cargo van) a few years ago. I'd love to know that that button is in front of the shifter as well. And please make the shifter for the manual something special.

The80sman 05-15-2008 03:38 PM

The Interior: JesusJosephMary!!!! What an interior!!! that blows Mustangs interior out of the water and not that it needs to be said but definatly the challengers boring mass quantity interior. This Camaro is gonna hit big when it finally hits. Cant wait to see them on the streets!!
