super or new engine?
hey everyone I cant decide between getting a super charger kit or a new engine, so here are my options. a hennessy supercharger kit for 10k bringing me to 550hp ish that would include me sending my car to calagary to the hennessy shop there and getting everything done or getting a new lsx 454 engine just under 10k. any thoughts

both seem like terrible options.. hennessy is your only overpriced option?

$10k for 550hp is a bit crazy. $7500 turbo kit + $1000 to install would make ~700rwhp.

Hennessy makes a seriously nice kit. You could do a MTI 427 ls3 for almost the same price.

AGP twin turbo kit running 8psi and take the money saved and set it aside for a forged short block. |
What are you using it for? Track, Drag, DD, Weekend warrior? The large engine will guzzle gas but can be a great option for the track. He supercharger will be better for fuel eco and also good at the drags. Either way, I do agree both are overpriced. I installed my own and am at 600whp for ~8k and I went overboard with everything so all that's holding me back is octane and the non-forged block. Change the block to forged and I'm good til ~1k rwhp.

You might check these two packages out.
http://www.davenportmotorsports.com/packages/26 http://www.davenportmotorsports.com/packages/27 GSL GM City is a General motors dealership in Calgary that is authorized to install Hennessey packages. Davenport Motorsports is a private shop in Calgary that sells their own packages (custom or standard). They are also an authorized Lingenfelter Performance Engineering dealer. In my opinion, Davenport has a much better selection to choose from. Bryan |
Yo u should just do the SC install yourself, not only is it an awesome experience, it's super easy to do.
