Dealer in Janesville WI
Talked to the guy yesterday. All info he has points to availability spring of 2008. He also said that if that was the case I could pre-order some time this fall.....Novemberish. I am not holding my breath but I am saving my down payment. He is going to keep looking and keep me posted => I will keep you all posted.

That is pretty similar to the dealers I have talked to here. The few I have called have basically come out and said they don't know much more than it is supposed to hit their lots sometime around the beginning of '09 and I probably know more about what it is expected to have than they do.... I apprecaite their honesty though.

any new news from chevy dealers regarding

waiting list or taking deposits?

35th02ss 04-18-2007 07:21 AM

Never give a deposit on the car unles you just orderd it. As far as waiting lists I've not heard of one with an actual waiting list.

Casull 04-18-2007 08:17 AM

It is going to vary by dealer. That is not something that GM requires all dealers to do (in fact i would think they would actually discourage it until the dealers know more about options).

They will begin taking orders approximately 6 months before the first Camaro rolls off the line.

I very much distrust waiting lists now. On other forums, I've read time and time again about people who were booted off of waiting lists for the Shelby GT500 because of dealer markups and people willing to drop $70K on a $40K car.

I hope Chevy dealers don't do this kind of thing, but hey they are trying to make money just like the Ford dealers are.

I will say this. If GM comes out against extraordinary dealer markups, I will be a loyal Chevy guy for life instead of just a supporter of American brands in general.
