Few more questions about detail process..

So from all my thread searching on the site I think I have this process down wash, clay, seal, wax, (polish if needed before wax) right? Also, after claying, do you go right into the next step, wash the car again first, or just wipe the residue off. I've seen conflicting advice on this part?

wash, clay, wash, polish (if needed) , wax/sealant

though Dylan is the final say

If you're going to polish after claying, then you can either wash or not before polishing. Doesn't matter. If you're not going to polish, then you should wash before applying your sealant or wax.

  1. Strip wash
  2. Clay
  3. Re-wash or waterless wash
  4. Aggressive Polish (as needed)
  5. Moderate Polish (as needed)
  6. Fine Polish
  7. Sealant (if using a sealant)
  8. Glaze (if using a glaze)
  9. Wax (if using a wax)

Steps 7-10 can be used in any combination or alone, but the order of application needs to stay the same.

Be ready to by a gallon of detail spray (among others :) ) So many uses and after a while, if you don't have a Bottle of it in your hand or hanging from your belt, you'll feel naked!
