Discontinue Camaro?

Not trying to be controversial at all, but when I was leaving the gym today and walking toward my car it just dawned on me that Chevy could discontinue the Camaro.

I think this would be an especially good idea if GM ever moves away from V8s. If they try to reinvent the car at some point maybe they should rename it. The Chevy Impala is a good example maybe...to me that thing is no Impala. What do you guys think?

They already discontinued it once..

The Camaro isn't going any where soon.

Ford tried this with the Probe replacing the Mustang. FYI: The Probe was discontinued after the 1997 model year and the Mustang continues to sell. I don't foresee GM changing the name.

Why would they discontinue the Camaro when it is making GM money? The whole point in making a vehicle or a product is so that a company makes money.

You may want to go and drive the new 2014 Impala - it IS an Impala -- and it's receiving great acclaim.

Sorry but, what are you talking about?

I had a thought when I left the gym today too: I'm hungry, I probably need to get some food.

They already have a 6th gen in the works and the sales from the 5th gen are better then ever. The V8 small block is efficient as ever right now and get as good or better gas mileage to comparable 6 cylinders right now. So unless the 6th gen style just completely bombs it'll be around for a while.

If the industry is still pumping out 400hp V8s in 10 years I'll be thrilled. But it's hard to imagine things staying this great.

The glass is always half empty for you isn't it?
