Camaro Car Corral - Road Atlanta Grand Am Race

Calling all surrounding clubs.....ACE5 is hosting a Camaro Car Corral at Road Atlanta for the Grand Am race on 4/19/13 - 4/20/13.

I will post a flyer from Road Atlanta with some initial details a little later, but here is some early info:

The event is a Continental Series Race and a Rolex Series race on Saturday 4/20/13. For those who are not familiar with Road Atlanta, it is considered one of the best road courses in the U.S.

The track is offering a $ 65.00 super ticket (Friday & Saturday) which includes private parking for our club in the infield, access to covered seating area between fan activities, and a lap around the track in our cars.

I am working with Grand Am to secure a meet and greet with a Camaro race team as well.

In addition, if there is enough interest, our club is planning a cruise and dinner for Friday afternoon/night.

There will be many more details coming, but I wanted to get the word out as soon as possible so you can make your plans.

I know there are at least 10 clubs (more I am sure) that are within fairly easy driving distance for this. Road Atlanta is located north of Atlanta on I-85.

Any clubs that have members that are interested, please send me a contact with your club, and I will keep that person updated. In addition, if enough people are coming, we can work on hotel information as well. I will also update this post as information/details become available.

I have been to Road Atlanta with my car for track days, and have been there to watch the Petite Lemans, and it is an unbelievable place to drive and watch. This will be the first time the Grand Am series has been to Road Atlanta, and it will be something you don't want to miss.

There will be a bunch of other car clubs interested in this event, so if I can get some immediate feedback regarding interest, it will help secure our place.

Thanks,

David Riser

David - I'll post to the Florida section as well if you haven't. PM me with the names of the clubs you've already contacted and I'll see what I can come up with.

Thanks Diane. I have not reached out to any specific clubs yet, seeing what kind of response we see from this. After I talk to Road Atlanta I will get with you and we can send the flyer to specific clubs.....if you are good with that.

It is early, but I know there are a bunch of other clubs that will be reserving spots so I want to get things started now.

Thanks.

Only 7 replies so far?

Just a quick update...Grand Am is working on setting up a meet & greet with Stevenson Motorsports, which will be awesome.

I confirmed our spot with Road Atlanta, but we need at least 25 cars to have our own parking area. If we can't get at least 25 then I am going to joint a Mustang Club. They will either give us one big area, or separate the area for each club...my thoughts are one big area. The Corral is both Friday and Saturday. They don't know yet if the parade lap will be on Friday or Saturday.

There is no max. number, so lets get busy letting me know who is interested. Make sure when you call to order your ticket that you tell them you are with the Camaro Corral, so they can track the numbers.

Diane, I think we should post something in each club thread, because we have only heard from one member outside our club. Let me know what you think, and we can figure out the best way to get the word out. I just don't want to take a chance on not documenting enough cars and lose our own spot.

Also anyone with ACE5 that wants to help set this up, please let me know.

I would also suggest that we get together before hand and talk about setting up a compound in a prime location at the track to hang out and watch the races.

Thanks,

David

You would think we could get close to 25 cars from our club! I'm going to post this on Facebook also!

Also, can we bring a friend and would they be able to get the same ticket price?(non Camaro owner)
