To all you dragsters

For fun, now that the numbers are out, what will it take to hit a 10.9? I know theres lots of ways to get there so lets say the cheapest and easiest way?

Cheapest and easiest would be a big shot of nitrous. That's not doing it the right way, just the cheapest and easiest. It may or may not last more than a couple of runs.

This is a dragster:

On the subject spray with some suspension upgrades and tires is the easiest & cheapest way to accomplish this, depends on your trans type, etc. also. A stock L99 w/maggie and dragradials should run low 11's. The car is heavy so it needs a bit more power and suspension set-up is critical as well.

Lower 9.5" pulley, full exhaust, tuning, converter, and you're money. If you're good enough, and have a great tune, you might not even need that much. All that's probably going to run about $5k and would be something I really don't think you'd have to ever worry about.

Like others have already said - N20 is about the cheapest way. 150-shot with DRs anf for probably less than $1500 and you could be there. That's not the direction I want to go though.

About 650 rwhp and good D/A for the day and this car will go into the 10's.

Gene Griffins ADM Powered CTSV 4 Door went a best of 10.56 at 132 last year at the LSX SHOOTOUT with 660 rwhp and drag radials,Of course a good driver.

Cost was alittle over 10k.

Just a set of stickies should do the trick. :happyanim:

I say this because EVERYONE is saying the ZL1 will smoke the old GT500's and the quickest stock powered GT500 is running 11.1's @ 124mph

if you want to run DR or slicks I don't think it will take a ton. I would not run NOS on this car with the hypereutectic pistons but that is just me I am kind of a don't push limits kind of person. I would just up the boost a tad.

sticky tires, pulley and tune would almost have to do it on a good day. depending on temps maybe a meth kit to keep IAT in line. I don't have any experience with the LSA yet to know what it is like on a hot day.

headers and CAI would make it a no brainer I would think.

I am not sure the ZL-1 will smoke just smoke an old GT500 once you remove the traction problem. they are 550hp and wieghs less. the GT500's issue has always been traction once you remove that issue it moves out pretty good.

Slicks a tune and good weather should be low 11s.
