LSX swap

Off Camaro topic but still with Chevys.

Any albertans work with an LS swap?

Got a 98 K1500 220K on body and motor.
Body has held up really good and it starting to show its age.
I'd love to save the truck and wake it up since bodywork is needed.

What I was hoping for?

A) build new LS3 swap into camaro and take camaro LS3 into truck

B) new motor (LQ9) for truck.

My ultimate goal is a clean classic that can rip. Probably end up doing the swap
finalize drive ability. Take it apart and stick it in a body shop Canada/USA.

Am I crazy? I wanna get into mechanics as I think it's a good hobby and this truck will be a great starting point.

Thoughts?

Why not put the LS3 from the Camaro (with some mods) into the truck and drop a crate LS7 into the Camaro?

If your doing a new build for the Camaro, I agree with SWRocket, build an LS7. For the truck, bolt in the LS3. Fast makes a great ECM/TCM combo, I think it's called FastEZ for simple wiring and tuning. Freshen the trucks transmission at the same time. Sounds like a great project over time.

I got the AGP kit and wasn't sure how useful
it would be with a new motor.

BC guy put the 427 in his car and last I heard from our local shop
was he was having a hell of a time. Wasn't running smooth.

It is running well now. Just kept melting spark plug wires. Hood vents and header wraps are a must

Spent some time away from the site , works been crazy. Had some issues with my motor build but on the road to having it all fixed up now. No Brian , it will be full boost against you. That thing of yours is rocking. May have to sneak in and pull a few plug wires on you before the winters up . Car is now down at davenport and if pictures on there website are current the engine is back in . I am starting to get excited for summer . Some much needed suspension work and hopefully I can have a good race season. Cheers to everyone
