Stock exhaust removal

I have searched this forum up and down but I can't seem to find a detailed DIY on removing the stock exhaust. Is there one or is this a fairly simple mod to make and a DIY isn't really necessary? I have never done anything like this but I'm handy with some tools. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

it is very easy.
1.jack car up, put on 6ton jack stands, there will be about 15" under the car.
2.remove tunnel brace (4 bolts)
3.unbolt band clamp directly behind cats.
lower the front of the exhaust, then work the muffler hangers, the whole thing comes out in one piece. It helps if you spray some wd40 on the rubber hangers.

^^ THIS. It's very simple. The entire exhaust from the cats to the tailpipes is one solid piece. It's pretty heavy so be aware of that. The rear hangers can be a little bit of a pain due to location. It is also a good idea to disconnect the battery so that when you start it up the car will learn the new exhaust right off.

If you are planning entire exhaust. IE headers. Disconnect battery. Unhook the 4 02 sensors (1 in the back of each head held in place with green clips. & 2 underneath the car simply unplug), remove spark plugs (so you don't crack them) then unbolt your oil dipstick and pull whole tube up and out then unbolt stock manifolds and take them out from the bottom cats and all. Then remove your 02 sensors from the bungs. Use anti seize when installing into new setup. Buy new OEM exhaust manifold gaskets or possibly use your stock ones. Never use the crap that comes with new headers or any RTV. Do the passenger side first as it's the worst side. Getting the dipstick tube back in sucks for most people but, i got it first try. After they are on make sure to go back and check the bolts again after a few heat cycles.

Do I need to have the entire car lifted to put on a cat back exhaust. In not going headers yet.

I know that's your thing to tell people to search but you're really not helping by being a jerk.

Thanks for the links but to be fair they are all titled header installs. I was searching for exhaust installs. Yes I know they are linked within the instructions but I wasn't searching for headers

Thanks for the help everyone. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting into something over my head but it seems fairly straightforward

Litle isn't being a jerk at all. You said you searched the forum up and down and he was able to find two sources in less than a minute. Camaro5 isn't the ONLY source of information out there. There are multiple Camaro sites and even more places to find information with a simple Google search. I guess you missed the DIY on exhaust removal in the Camaro5 DIY section, aptly named "exhaust removal". That one took me 5 seconds to find.

Spray a soapy water mix on the rubber hangers. Oil-based products can deteriorate the rubber.

And of course his sidekick. You guys make a great couple. I have found what I was looking for so there's really no need for you to defend him. Have a nice day.
