what type of research have you done to make these claims?
|
If I'm correct you really won't see the optimun potiential of the fast intake manifold until you get cams and heads or some type of forced induction. If you just have basic boltons then you will be lucky to get 15hp out of it. What all do you have on your car right now?

welcome to 2002.
IMHO, on these engines, a ported stocker goes A LOONNNGG way. I wouldn't even consider a FAST intake, unless I had at least a > stock displacement engine. And even at that level, it would have to depend on the setup. But for stock bottom end with heads/cam/fi/nitrous... I'd stick to a ported ls3 intake any day of the week. |
This is not news

Okay, I may have spoken out of anger a bit there. The FAST is okay considering the mods that I have. BUT I have spent $950 on a IM that I won't see any real gains from until I do another 4-5K in modifications. The advertised the specs are :
Quote:
(RWHP) 25 -30 Vararam 16 FAST IM 32 ARH LT's, HF Cats and X-pipe Total 73 RWHP (conservative) My Mainline dyno initial dyno with bolts and no tune put down an average of about 295RWHP. With a tune I am now putting down 315RWHP So... where are these gains that I am supposed to see? I paid a lot of money to get parts and power. I expect it. I'm have a 2SS/RS L99 |
Old news... should have researched it first...:iono:
It looks cool though  |
Yeah I guess I'm going the N/A route to pull more power. I'm just very irritated because the numbers that these advertisers put out DO NOT match what we actually make. Now granted, its all an estimate but advertisers should put out REAL world numbers not "fluff"

That's one of the first lessons you will learn when getting into modding cars. MOST manufactors will exaggerate on their gains for a easy sales pitch.
Example: You are adding Billy Bob's CAI on your car Billy Bob says his Cold Air Intake will give your 36+ rwhp. You put said cold air intake on your stock motor and gain 16 rwhp I know what you are thinking... Billy Bob lied. Actually, no he didn't. Billy Bob was just vague. Bill Bob put compared his cold air intake with the stocker on a solid roller 454 lsx motor. A motor that would be REALLY choked by the stock intake, and would see very impressive gains to advertise. Billy Bob gained 36 rwhp on this motor. So remember, don't trust Billy Bob. screw billy bob. |
I agree you should more whp with your mods even without the fast. At least about 355+
|
I agree. You need heads and cam to take advantage of that intake manifold. You can't add up bolt ons and expect it to work that way. You'd probably see a big increase with that intake manifold when combining it with some head work and cam

No way ur dynoing that low w those mods somethings up prob w the dyno
|
those numbers just seem really low. lower than stock. san diego is near sea level isnt it?
