It might sound like I'm arguing a semantic, but I'm not ;)

I don't think anything will happen. I think they're stance would likely be that you can't expect the maximum benefit from that mode without VHT or DRs. If you're thinking that you shouldn't run in Mode 5 without either of those, I'm only suggesting that those are just not the conditions that mode was designed for and you wouldn't get the maximum benefit from it without those details ;) We didn't see any videos with ZL1 on DRs from the track tests, so, once again - I have more questions than answers.

All in due time :)

That sounds right from what I have gathered, running mode 5 on the streets would probably yield a slower time.

I did read in the manual -thanks! - that it will DAMAGE the transmission if you try to change PTM while you are moving and it would not be covered by warranty. Just saying... gotta gets your ducks together before you decide to ..... MASH IT! LOL..  (some of us are taking longer these days to make decisions :D )

OH, and if any of you thought you'd get the automatic to make it easier for HER to drive...........:happyanim: :sm0::sm0: :happyanim:

It is a 12.5 sec car if that's all the driver can do and yeah with an experienced driver obviously better times can happen....

I will have to read up on this why on earth would they let you do that wile in motion if it damages things. that would be a simple software update.

GOOD JOB CHEVY!

& that's coming from a Mustang driver.

I <3 ZL1

Ein17 02-11-2012 08:59 PM

How would changing PTM settings while moving damage the transmission? From what i can tell all its doing is changing the computer settings for the Traction Control and limiting or un limiting power?

kbar4782 02-11-2012 08:59 PM

That's a sharp stang man

For those that have never been out to Inde, the drag times are not something to compare with a real drag strip. The "drag strip" is really the front straight and its an uphill run for most of it. I would expect much better times on a real strip and even better at lower elevations. I was also really cool here when they were testing. May have increased power, but the tire stickiness was probably lacking.

Wish I could afford one....
