My catalytic converters went bad a few thousand miles after the warranty ended (go figure). It's cheaper to replace the entire exhaust than just the cat converter, so wondering if anyone can shed light if I can make this replacement?

anything is possible, but imo it would be far from a direct bolt on.

The bigger question is why???

Why do you say that? The 2012 SS exhaust I have on my car was a direct bolt on. Is there something fundamentally different than before?

Catalytic converters from dealership = $1000
Take off SS exhaust on craigslist = $150

The Craigslist exhaust includes cats for $150.00??? If so, those cats alone are worth much more than that but won't work with a V6..

I gave my factory V8 6 spd cat back exhaust to a friend with a 2010 V6 auto and he said he swapped it with his factory set up with no problems.

I doubt that the cats are not included in that $150 price.

The cat-back sections between the two would be the same except for the larger pipe (2.25" vs 2.5"). However; I'm not sure if the flanges where the catalytic converters mate up to the exhaust manifolds are the same between the 2010 V6 and the SS.

I know you can get magna flow direct fit from Oreilly's...$355 each. Or get universal cats (a lot cheaper about $70-100) and have a muffler shop weld them in

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that! Cats are included

Ok, if it doesn't work out for any reason, I'll try one of these methods, thank you!

I thought what you needed was cats? They are not the same V6 to V8. The cat back is interchangeable V6 to V8 but the cats are not. So a full V8 exhaust with cats is not going to help if your cats are bad.
