2012 Camaro SS Convertible Suspension
Which suspension does the 2012 Camaro SS Convertible have? Is it the FE3 or 4? I believe the 2012 Coupe has the 4 but the convertible stayed with the FE3, correct?
Also, which year ZL1 sway bar can I upgrade to? |

The 2012 Camaro SS has the FE3 performance suspension, which comes standard on the SS Convertible. And yes, the FE4 is standard on the 2012 SS Coupe. I hope that helps, William R. Chevrolet Customer Care |
I'm not all that impressed with the factory suspension, seems sloppy in the turns.. will be looking into aftermarket sway-bars soon.

My problem is trying to put power down in the corners.

ZL1 rear sway bar bolts right in. You'll need the bar and new sway bar links. The holes are already in the lower arms. For the front you can use either the ZL1 or the 1LE. Again you'll need the sway bar and new links. Where the links attach at the upper end you will need to enlarge the hole to accomodate the larger end link.

Once you've upgraded you can feel the difference. Switching to a better tire will also help with cornering. Also, just a suggestion, while you're switching the sway bars, you might want to swap out the trailing arms and tie rods.

Chris82xx, I am kind of a newbie on suspension upgrades. what kind of benefits can I expect from replacing the trailing arms and tie rods? Also, what would you suggest replacing them with? |
Trailing arms and tie rods will help improve traction not only in launches, but also in cornering. It provides more stability. Brand? Well, that one is open to public opinion. There are quite a few companies that sell suspension parts. I chose to go with Pfadt because the shop that I use is mainly familiar with their products so for me it just made more sense.
