Plastidip black out ???

Has anyone painted a black out on their Camaro? I heard plasti dip will not hurt the paint but its always better to ask first.. I want to black out the back of my car like the pic below.

That looks awesome. did it want to pull up when you removed the painters tape that masked the area?

It shouldn't. Just pull the tape before it totally cures and make sure you get at least 3 coats. I have dipped bowties and rims and I LOVE them!

I did it.
Be careful though, it's very easy to get the tape stuck to the plasti dip.

How do yall get the lines strait on the rear I tried and I couldn't

Jerry7297 06-27-2013 11:43 AM

Practice, I messed up the first time. But if you do light coats and do not get close to the tape then hit close to the edge with a heavy coat then remove the tape immediately your lines come out good. Do not let the Plasti dip dry it will mess up your lines. I actually went back and added a vinyl pin strip to the edge of mine.

Did mine as well. Like everyone says do a heavy coat and then peel while it's wet. This will give you a clean masking line. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/28/junu5a7y.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/28/3ebyvynu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/28/gupemugy.jpg
