It tells you the contry of originfor engine as well as the transmission.

My engine came from the US, my M6 transmission came from Mexico on my 2013 ZL1 Vert.

I think its a play on words...what does "origin" mean? Where the parts are produced or where the engine was assembled? The only thing official I ever saw regarding engine assembly was stating Mexico. I could be wrong, but from what I read all LSAs were assembled in Mexico.

Sorry for straying off topic...

Mine says both Engine and Transmission came from United States

What is your source of reference? Can you copy and paste it since it is something you have read? That will eliminate any confusion on this matter.:thumb:

What happen to the transmission? Is it a auto or manual?

Manual. He said syncros or clutch or something. Won't shift right. Just grinds.

Hi guys, long time ago, i was online. Today a bad and unbelievable day and experience for me as zl1 enthusiast. I was done a tour, really cruising with the zl1. Them accellerate the car in the first. Engine done a big loud bang, oil comes out, low oil lamp goes on for a second. I took the first out and was able to rollin with the car a few meters to the next space i was sure for parking.
I am not really a mechanic, but i think, when a loud bang like this while i accelarete and the engine then makes some strange rattle the engine is broken totaly.
What a sad day. Car was imported from me in 2012, no gm warranty in switzerland for this exotic car. Engine have 42000 km and i was always careful with this car.

Last year i let replace the supercharger on my cost to prevent a engine failure of cause of the known problems with the superchargers.
Its a 2012 year.

It's better to start a new thread than revive a 7 year old thread. Yes, a sad day. But know this an anomaly, an oddity, a true peculiarity for an unmodded LSA. Could be starved for oil.

There should not be major engine failure if the car is being maintained properly. Quite a few CTS-V LSA's that are over 100k, and even a couple of ZLs over 100k withouit major engine failure.
