My 1le's down!
So have a 14 1le with 2500miles. Took it to the drag strip for the first time Friday night. Traction control and all nannies off. Lowered rear tire pressure to 23psi. First pass 13.2@110 second pass 13.01 @112 and third pass launched it at 2500 heard a loud pop and car wouldn't move anymore on its own. Got towed off the line crawled underneath and found the left rear axle snapped in half. I'm a little disappointed thought the car would be able to handle the strip but guess not. Launched at 2500-3000 all three time and running factory tires. They are sticky ashell on the track. Anyway had the car towed an hour back to my area and dropped of at roberts chevy. Hopefully everything gets fixed soon and I can be driving my car again. Never going to the strip on stock axles again.

if you're trying to get this fixed under warranty you probably shouldn't post it online...

Doesn't the warranty cover taking it to the track since it's, yanno, a track car? And marketed as such? Or is the drag strip "different"?

Hope OP can swing a warranty somehow, I sure cant. |
These cars should not be launched over about 1500... IMO

I was honest with the dealership about what happened .no point in trying to lie. they said they would see what they could do. 1500rpm? If I used the launch control it would have been 4000rpm prob would have snapped on the first run. I also thought that warranty would cover it because of what the car is. Thought that zl1 and 1le had this coverage. I could be wrong though.

Well this is a little scary to hear....

Warranty coverage for track days and events, soon as its used for competition its all you...
