New dash kit kenwood???
 

Is the dash kits not out yet?? Haven't been in this area of the forum for awhile so wanted to check

Not yet. I think sometime in March.

Is there any pics or details of it yet?

are you refering to the kenwood unit itself or the install kit?

The install kit is just a scosche or metra, your choice....

They have the unit for the Mustang, though it appears the Camaro one will be somewhat different as far as what it displays.....

I know it will be a huge surprise, but if you hit the Search above and type in 2013 Kenwood, it comes up with multiple thread links to the new kenwood and kit...thread number 4 & 5 to be precise.....

No the install kit will not be Scosche or Metra. It will be nothing more than any easy fit kit from Kenwood. Automotive Data Solutions is partnering with Kenwood in order to have a unit that will have all controls in the head unit a video is linked below. The only negative thing is this will not be out for a while. The head units can be purchased now and most will be available in March. The mustang is getting the unit first then the onstar based systems are next. Going to have to hold your breath with the rest of us:mad0260:

Strange, Double D Mods on reply 3 states its with a Schoche or metra....perhaps that pic is thier version of scosche/Metra for the Mustang?

I would much rather have this than the Scosche or Alpine dash kit. I can't wait to buy and get it installed! The dude said in 2013, wonder if that is early 2013 or the end of 2013?

Is it possible a Kenwood kit would be made by Scoshe or Metra? The Alpine kit is made by Scoshe.

The current kits are Scosche or Metra alpine is made by Scosche. The only option out today is to use on of those kits for a headunit replacement.
The Kenwood kit will not be out for a while maybe as long as a year from what a Kenwood Employee told me. Double D has the same info. Look at the threads. In fact I learned most of this from them. Call and discuss it with them he was one of the first to see what Kenwood was wanting to do. I would post the thread it is in but I figure someone else can do the search.

I do not have much for updates yet.
I hope to know more by end of the month

I also was told by my Alpine rep that the dash kit is being discontinued from Alpine too. Trying to get more info on this.

I will continue to wait for the new kenwood dash kit... I will also need a kenwood radio to go along with it maybe the kenwood ddx790... Thanks Dennis
