G8 rear brakes on camaro

Ok. I'm on this site just to lurk. I have a 09 Pontiac g8 GT. I have already done the brembo upgrade up from. And I have the chance to do the rears.

Does anyone know if my GT rear brakes will fit a camaro with brembo's. I know for the brembo's to fit my car I need a custom bracket ( already ordered) I've heard mixed things. Yes and no. Has anyone here done this

Thanks
Victor

We have fit CTS-V brakes to a G8, but not the SS brakes to a G8. Fitting the fronts was cake. The rears were a headache. The SS rear caliper and the CTS-V are the same dimensionally. It was the rotor that was different. There is a difference in the offset of the SS rear caliper compared to the G8 rear. I think we resolved it by using the Camaro rotor instead of the Caddy rotor which would make your swap easier.

We did this with a Dealer about two years ago. The tech we worked with is no longer there and the car is long gone. That limits my ability to assit further.

Yes I know this. Not trying to sound like a ass. But. I know how to get the brembo's on a g8. What I'm asking in will my stock GT rear brakes fit on a camaro. I have a buddy that wants smaller rear brakes so he can use smaller rims for racing. An thought since our cars are the same platform. They will swap over. Except that I have to have a bracket to install on my car.

No worries I didn't understand. Most use the rears from a 6. You might want to ask over in the drag racing section.
