I don't think you HAVE to be there Thursday... it is just for those that want to get teched in early... we are leaving PGH around 4 or 5 am Thursday to make it for the crazy LSX Party at the host hotel @ 6pm... free food & drink and over $5,000 in prize giveaways

Robin,

Did you change you front wheels out for smaller ones to match the rears. What kind of gains do you think you got from the wheel swap. Still going back and forth on getting smaller wheels. If I could see a significant gain it would be worth it. Whats the latest with your rear end, any luck yet?

I did not change the brakes or the wheels in the front. IMO that crosses the line in regards to looks. I know there is some savings there but the rear looks bad with the short tires.

The Mickeys helped in both effective ration as well as compound. It was hit or miss with the Nittos the last several times I was running. With the extra power it would spin. I have worn through 2 clutches slipping them off the line. I now have a clutch that I can slip without killing the heat treat in the diaphram LOL.

Nothing on the rear end yet. It looks like we may go to an automatic to get the advantage of a torque converter.
Of course that is at a cost with the losses through the automatic. But then again if you can't get the traction or 60' then your dead anyway.

Should be interesting.

I am getting ready to replace my clutch right now. Still looking at a few different manufactures. By buddy that is a serious racer said the same thing about swapping out my trans for a auto. He also wants me to put a solid rear axle in. Both are way to extreme for me. I'm not going to make this a full racer, just want to upgrade what I've got.

I am fiending to get to the strip. Went on Saturday but there was bracket racing going on. This Friday though there's a test and tune and then midnight madness on Saturday, so I'll finally be able to run. It'll be my first time and I'm bone stock (other than sways and trailing arms) so I'm not expecting anything big.

We are staying here:
http://www.admiraltyinns.com/Admiralty/index.php

Rooms were cheap ($215 for 3 nights with 2 queen beds) and it is 1 mile from the host hotel where the crazy LSX party is Thursday night.

We will be leaving Early Thursday morning from PGH and were looking for more cars to cruise down with...

I'm staying @ the same place be om the lookout for a CGM SS with 305 20 nittos on the back, or in race form it'll have song black chrome C6 wheels with 315 toyo DR's on it, it'll be the one the sounds like it's got a bad miss to it'
. We'll also have an 08 Tahoe hauling a 4th gen camaro with 325's on drag stars & an aweful miss :). It'll be the one eith 2 jugs in the back

No worries, I just picked up my car yesterday and once I break it in I'll have my boyfriend run it at the track. Should see some decent times at Atco Raceway in Atco, NJ this fall. So keep waiting for it to break in. :)

Awesome... are you going to be there Thursday for the Early bird party at the Quality Inn?

I will be riding down with a friend in his 416ci LS3 stroker powered black 04 GTO, look for the sleeper GTO with 4 dudes in it haha.

jamnutz 09-24-2009 01:42 AM

We are going to get there Wednesday night, I want a chance to the track to do some T&T on Thursday, & will go to all the parties. Did some work to the car today, was going to get some times @ the track, but it was closed due to weather. I'll have to wait until next wed to get it to the track.

whos the rocket scietist that made this clutch system any way it was flawed to begin with!then i got an idea lets put dirty clutch fluid with the brake fluid!

will69camaro 10-08-2009 09:30 AM

I've been running my car hard. I had my first dyno and made 12 passes when the car had 850 miles on it (second week I had it with 1 week being gone at the body shop). Been waiting for good air to go get a few more baselines before the first round of mods.

I also am awaiting another open track day as I missed the last sadly. I will be running the car hard on both drag strip and road course to see what this car can do. Dyno-queen it is not! Attempting to get good weather to move up the list of "fastest stock times." I'll have the benefit of nice air but already have a good time considering the conditions. May try your hard launches you mentioned in another thread!

I'm running mine...just waiting for a better rear wheel/tire setup and some better weather.

MSG' 10-08-2009 07:51 PM

I really want to take mine to the track, ive never had a car i could before, now i do, and ive never been on a track, so Im kinda nervous. I was told one time that if u cant afford to fix your car when u race it, to dont race it, so not sure what to do, i guess i should just go do it.

Better weather? Our highs are in the 40s and 50s right now. :iono:
