Magnacharger + Torque converter advice

Hey guys,

I'm really going back and forth on installing a torque converter in my Magnacharged L99. I already have pretty decent 60' times (in my opinion) and I'm not sure how much more I could expect to gain from a 2800 stall? I would really like to hear from fellow TVS2300 owners that have installed a similar stall and what you experienced. My PB at the track to date is an 11.08 at just over 124. Not setting the world on fire, I know, but if I can get her into the mid to upper 10's in the spring, I will be a happy camper. I still need this car to be a nice DD for the times when I'm not at the track. Like many of us, I want my cake and be able to eat it too! ;)

See the signature line below for my mods.

For what it's worth, my PB at the track was with my stock 20's up front. I just purchased my Race Stars a few weeks ago. Car is in storage now.

What about gears on the car?

No thanks. I personally think that tall of a gear would be overkill with a PD blower. To each their own. Thanks.

Seriously the right converter could drop 1/4 mile times by almost half second and be the difference between running low 11's and mid 10's. I would recommend to get a custom built triple disk converter from Circle D or FTI. Make sure the converter gets built and speced to your mods and retune your car after install for best results. Should also lock it up in 3rd or 4th since your FI. Don't just buy a off the shelf 2800 and expect dramatic results. At the point your at a converter is going to be the best mod because more power at this point is just going to make things unreliable unless you upgrade fuel system or engine components. Just make sure you get a auxiliary Trans cooler and retune.

Thanks for the advice. Do you have a PD blower by chance?

An upgraded converter is always going to help. Call the company of your choice and spec your car to them and they will give a converter to enhance your current setup with much improved numbers.

Thanks! I might have to do that.

I really appreciate the advice guys. Anyone have a PD blower and have numbers at the track before and after a stall? I'm well aware that a 12-13 second car will see .5 sec improvements at the track, but I'd like to know what I can expect at my level? Just trying to be realistic.

With the right converter .5 improvement is very realistic

I would REALLY like to believe that, but I'm skeptical. I'd love to hear from others with similar mods and a PD blower. N/A and Centri blowers are a different story. I would like to hear from TVS2300 guys.

I had a TVS2300 as my first blower so I am speaking from experience.
