Local dealer has Chevy Volt

Had to go to my dealership today to schedule service on my wifes Camaro, and decided to walk around and look... and to my surprise there is a black Volt sitting in the middle of the showroom between a ZR1 Corvette and 2010 Camaro Pace Car.

I snapped a few pics of it and was able to sit inside and look around and this car is actually pretty cool looking... hats off the Chevy Electric Car Team :iono: but anyway , the interior is ebony seats and carpet, with white pearl dash trim that is very eye appealing!! I'm 6'3" and had plenty of room, seats were very comfortable... still not a Camaro by any means :respekt:. The car won't be available to purchase until 3rd quarter but the owner did purchase the car himself to have it available for display.

I didn't get a pic of the window sticker, but MSRP was 42,000, VIN #185.

I love how the ZR1 is roped off, but the Volt is gaping open for all comers.

They've had several ZR1's and none have been open to sit in!.... I've asked and gotten nowhere:paddle:

Only about 65-70k dollar difference...no big deal...pocket change right? That's if the volt is 45k

ahhh, I know Hendrick in Cary has 4-5 ZR1's all the time.... I was hoping that was the one with the Volt... I'm sure they will have one soon enough. I've sat in a ZR1.... just like sitting in any other vette.... just different writing on the headrest and there's a boost gauge on the dash

I hope that they offer an all-electric version of the Volt in the near future instead of the hybrid-only version. I love electric cars but feel that hyrbid's are an expensive cheat that doesn't really save as much energy as it should. I test drove a Tesla last year and loved it. Can't wait to get one.

Now, if they only had an all electric Camaro...

The gas motor is a like a life raft. Just in case you go out too far. Its a great advantage over the Nissan Leaf, and makes the car much more versatile. The next generation of electrics will be 100% pure. This is a great first start. And, its... American designed and made. Wow.

They start around 40k, but with the discounts for them being electric the customer would likely not pay more than about 30k to 32k

Its Electric..Boogie. Woogie Woogie Woogie

Nice find!

stikSS 01-26-2011 04:07 PM

7500 tax credit as well.... wow!
