Why is RJT more expensive?
Why is RJT more costly? Don't they bathe each car in a vat and spray them with sprayguns? Why is one color more of a problem than others?

It's a metallic finish just like the IOM which also has an additional cost.
the primer and paint is sprayed in a booth by robots onto an electrically charged body. the only time the car is "bathed" is after finally assembly when it is tested for leaks. |
because it is so awesome

I think it is a more complex paint process, like an extra color coat before the clear coat.

RJT is a tri-stage paint process. All the others are 2 stage.

I don't think it being 'metallic' has anything to do with the cost. CGM does not cost extra and has the same metallic finish. I think it has more to do with people that really want it are willing to pay for it, like RedJewel2SS said, it is pretty awesome.

It's not the metallic finish, it's the fact that it has a midcoat that is sprayed before the final clearcoat.
