Help the Camaro win Motortrend's Championship

http://blogs.motortrend.com/6510323/...-gt/index.html

The Ford boys are coming out in packs voting for the mustang, even though the camaro is the clearly the best bang for the buck. Read the instructions and leave your vote in the comment section.

Mustang GT all the way. It can do just as much with way less horsepower and a live axle and less cost. Amazing
I had to laugh at this.... :sm0:

catmaster1 04-08-2009 09:24 AM

Another Camaro on the board

radz28 04-08-2009 09:25 AM

DONE - thanks :D

How in the Heck is this even close?! The only thing the 'Stang has going for it is the Track Pack and GT500. The rest is completely subjective. Given this is the first year for Camaro, I'm sure we'll see some more suspension packages and refinement in the future, then what? Track-what?... I won't talk about the GT500 because it's not even in the same price range and I don't believe the it was the target for the SS.

Great find and sticky!

I tried to send an email twice but it gets rejected each time..WTF!!

Until we get our Camaros, we'll have to settle for beating Mustangs in our imagination. Once we get them, Mustangs will have to settle for beating us in theirs. :D

BackinBlackSS/RS 04-08-2009 10:55 AM

Another SS vote. :)

The_Blur 04-08-2009 10:56 AM

"Camaro SS

Although both are nice cars, the Camaro's built-n badassery content far exceeds that of the Mustang. Usually an overlooked statistic, the content of badassery has recently become a major indicator of sports car success. It is important to note that badassery is not available in every car, including the Mustang. Besides the amount of badassery available in the Camaro, it is important to note the far superior engineering, performance, and testing that went into the Camaro over the lazily styled 2010 Mustang, which basically looks the same as the current Mustang from a distance. While both are, in fact attractive, it is also important to note the interior differences. The Camaro maintains its traditional Corvette engine, the LS3 or slightly modified L99 (version of LS3), and contains a 6-speed manual or automatic. That's right. Badassery even comes with the automatic. Add to that the clear superiority of a car that ran 8:20 on the Nurburgring and a car that doesn't need an optional supercharger to break 400 horsepower, and you've got Chevrolet's meanest Camaro. Ask your dealer for a test drive as soon as you can.

Lastly, I want to remind everyone of this important fact when ordering a car. Your dealer is an idiot."

ctk1 04-08-2009 11:01 AM

hey fdjizm, You better hope you stang guys win the online voting, because it will be the last thing you will beat the Camaro at in a LONG LONGGGGGGGG TIME! Welcome to the glue factory little horsie!!!

5.0 GTs next year.

Rodrunner 04-08-2009 12:04 PM

^^^Watch it, Dragon! So, I guess I couldn't interest you in a slightly used '06 350Z? :)

Nice writeup, Blur!!! Love that badassery.

+1 for the SS......wonder if this one will stay fair.

I'm not going to get too concerned until the 'Stang gets IRS - then I'll be more worried. There's more to this car than just the power

Hey, now -- I meant no offense! ;) I just like the delicious irony of such a landslide win on a theoretically non-biased site after we had those threads around here comparing them and settling at "they're equals".

Sorry, no can do on the '06...saving up for a Camaro SS.

truth411 04-08-2009 12:39 PM

Thanks for all the votes, I want the camaro to win by a landslide, Just like North carolina whiped Michigan ST. So Keep the votes comeing!!!

Tropi-Care Chris 04-08-2009 01:18 PM

Gmail address worked... 1 more for the Camaro!!

fireresq157 04-08-2009 01:34 PM

It's funny we have guys buying/interested in the Camaro that have never been including a ton of ford guys, but their die hard fan base refuses to see the light. It wins in almost every category on paper and the real world.

KILLER74Z28 04-08-2009 01:45 PM

Done...

There aren't enough modern day "muscle" cars to even fill a bracket like this. its more just reasonably priced performance vehicles.

Mason44 04-08-2009 10:18 PM

Voted: I also got to say how I love all them mustang guys who think their base GT will keep up with the Camaro SS, but what most of them dont know is how the mustang got to use their track package when the Camaro and mustang went head to head. I also loved how one guy had to bring up how GM is looking at going bankrupt. But lets face it Ford got 30 billion from the Gov. before the economy went to crap.

drivingincamaro 04-08-2009 11:00 PM

Some comments amaze me:sm0:

I guess people Really care about 0-60 and skid pad times Huh?

I find it amazing that the main thing people bring up is all the performance specs how about Driving the Camaro SS and Mustang GT for a month on public roads... lets see witch one comes out on top

... I personally Could not care less about 0-60 times or skidpad numbers.

All of the Ford people seem to compare only Performance Numbers:iono:

like I could give 2 Shi%s how fast your mustang is or how good it handle's

I want a Good looking car with power to pushes me back into my seat and a comfortable Ride,

i think the Mustang is gonna win because the mustang has a bigger fanbase

I Hope with all my heart the camaro wins though
