If the manufacturers don't need the parts, why would the suppliers keep making them?

If GM is going to use the Brembos on the Camaro, why is the demand so low and the sales for that matter. I really get scared when I see news like that. After all is said and done, the Government could come in and say build fuel efficient cars or go out of business.
