I saw that this afternoon... Such a shame. Huge loss...

Sad

What a shame.:pout:

This was totally preventable. I've worked in this area Installing caisson foundations down 100+ feet to prevent failure of structures in case a sink hole develops.

Well. This does raise questions about not only the rest of the Museum, but the fact that Bowling Green Assembly itself is just across the street.

Also they're constructing a racetack up there along side the museum.

:frown:Tough to watch those Chevy's go like that. Shame

jdsblueray2013 02-12-2014 07:52 PM

I was there back in 07, and remember that exact area. SCARY!

jdsblueray2013 02-12-2014 07:53 PM

Two of the corvettes were on loan direct from GM.

Yes young apprentice. I felt that as well. It was as if a million voices suddenly cried out........& then silence.

RubyCamaro 02-12-2014 09:27 PM

Just terrible. Unbelieveble. We have events with our club there every year and are so looking forward to the motorsports park opening. It is a blessing that it happened at night so no one was hurt.

Can we now have a moment of silence........................................... ....................

PYROLYSIS 02-12-2014 10:18 PM

What a shame. I hope all the cars are recovered and restored. Good news is nobody was hurt.

RubyCamaro 02-12-2014 11:03 PM

The local news just reported that the museum is actually going to be open tomorrow, just not in the area where the sinkhole is. That is really surprising to me given how that sinkhole looks in the pics & videos. I know I would not want to be there tomorrow.
