Well, just wanted to put out I won a car camera from Garys Customs and Spymaster this weekend. This is an awesome device. It shows video both front and back. I will post some videos tomorrow but here are some install pics.

You cannot see it from inside the car unless you move the mirror.

This is a pic of the back facing camera.

For the record, YOU won that CarCam in the drawing!

The other winners name eludes me, but will post later tonight!

Where's the display/memory storage?

What all does it record and does anyone have a link to the camera so we can look at it?

I am buying one this fall but can't make up my mind what I want.

It records on a sd card in the side of the front unit. The 2 GIG sd card will record over 24hrs of video/audio. You have a option to hook a tv to the front unit for playback but I dont use it. I may use it for the carshows. Cameras always get attention hehe!! Anyway, its great for people worried about there cars getting keyed as well as going down the road. If a accident happen you have proof. On the computer, it shows a gps map of you current position during the video as well as G force and speed. Its a black box in the car and can be very useful and entertaining in different situations.

It is plug and play, you can move it from car to car, as it draws it power from a cigerette adapter or you can wire it to any 12 volt source like I did. I used the power from the dome light.

This model of the CarCam had a slight change, in that the REAR camera has a 20 ft cord allowing you to place it anywhere within the vehicle.

Those who race or drag, should place the rear camera on the passenger side , where the coat hanger is and you would have one awesome shoot of you driving!

His front camera would be a lot clearer, if he backed it away from the glass, just a tad.

One of my FRONT VIEW camera recordings at C5 Fest:

Well, for the install, it took the most time figuring how I was going to do it. I tied directly into the fuse box with a tap with the onstar fuse so it will record 24/7. That took about 20 minutes running the wires through the edge of the headliner and down the front arm on the drivers side. No need to take anything apart, its easy to do it without having to. As for the rear camera, I screwed it in the back part of the headliner in the middle. I did not want to see holes if I ever remove it but if you look at the headliner, it has a verticle area in the back that I used very small screws to install that came with the camera. Again, I was able to route the wires by going through the edge of the headliner and behind the passenger door top trim and back into the headliner to the front camera without taking anything apart. I would say all in all, it would take an hour for install then a little time for testing to get the cameras at the right viewing angle.

Here is a site with some pics. My camera has a built in gps antenna but all else looks the same. The rear camera is about a the size of a 50 cent piece.
