Is this a resonable price on a 2011 2SS?
I have been quoted an out the door price on a 2011 2SS of 42000. This is with the automatic trans, RS package and Sunroof.
Originally I was looking at a 2010 with the same options. Using the GM supplier discount, I was quoted 41149.24 out the door. The vehicle price was 37107 base. I'm in California so tax and licsencing fees are ridiculous. I havent been able to find a website with supplier price breakdowns on the 2011 yet but going with the info here, 850 more seems alittle much. What do you guys think? I was thinkin along the lines of 41500 max but wanted to get some second opinions before I go forward. |
you tell me... i got a 1ss/rs manual for 31k with GM discount ....... my friend got quoted for a 2ss/rs with body kit and rims for 42000
thats to much |
If by "out the door" you mean including TT+L that is a fair price. If not... NO
that car should run you about 37,500 |
I see you are from California too. The tax + title + tags will add a lot to the MSRP. Check and see if they included "fabric protection" or "paint protection" to the price. That is an uneccessary expense in my opinion.
My 2SS RS was in the 41K range out the door. |
I just got a 2SS/RS auto, sunroof for 37,500 out the door.

my 2010 2ss/rs auto/sunroof was right at 40 with tt+l in VA (sales tax I think is 5 cents on the dollar).
This includes them adding white rally stripes when I get the time to go back |
Kbb.com has the invoice prices for the 2011s now

If you go on the chevrolet website, write down all the prices for the car and each option. That would be your MSRP. If you have that in your hand while trying to buy the car from the sales rep, you might have a good change of at least getting that. It's what I did on my 2010 and it went from 1300 over MSRP to MSRP.

Truecar.com will give you what the dealers are actually paying GM, which is less than invoice.

Check pricing from our Sponser Dealers. They may be able to offer additional discounts that will cover the shipping to you and still be lower than your local dealer. I bought my 2SS/RS from Anna at Sparta Chevrolet in Sparta, MI and had it delivered to Melbourne for less than the local dealers would sell the car. Anna included the FL sales tax but I had to purchase the plate. The whole process was quite painless. I recommend you give her a call or send her an email.

My supplier's discount (for being in an authorized credit union) was $1125. I got $250 off for being a preferred customer. My 2010 2SS/RS Automatic with Polished wheels ($470) and a trunk mat ($135) had a MSRP of $38,255. I paid $36,880 (plus tax/title/registration fees)
