Countdown to Camaro

By my estimate, assuming a 10/1/08 release, we have 429 days left until it's here. Anyone think it would be cool to add a countdown to the web page header or footer? I know it would only be an estimate, but I find myself thinking about how long we still need to wait, then doing the math in my head.

Seems like a long time, but when you think about how long we have already been waiting, it will be here before we know it.

Maybe it's lame idea, what do you all think?:bonk:

Thanks!

Don't think it's a lame idea. We'd need a good date, though. Think about all the people that come on the site and see a counter. Even though there's a disclaimer that plainly says ESTIMATE ONLY, people will probably still get pissy when it's not out by the date....or GM releases another date further away and someone just doesn't get it.

Don't get me wrong. It's not a bad idea at all. I'm just concerned about folks who don't understand a GUESS.

Maybe we could put one up, then alter it if GM releases a Sure-fire release date, I'm sure nobody will notice.

-OR-

We could just Wait untill GM gives a Sure-fire release date, then set up a timer.

But all in all, I agree, that's not a lame idea at all! Excellent, actually!

 Of course we could always set up a timer that read:

DAYS TILL CAMARO RELEASE:
"We don't know, do you?"

On my Myspace, I had a counter that let everyone know wehn my EAOS was (The day I got out of the Navy).

I could easily set it up on Myspace and forward a mod here the code for it...they have websites that do the code for you.

I need the estimated date you want me to start off with, it's easy to change.

Just say

Estimated DOR: X days/hours/minutes/seconds

how can you "count down" to a date that is not set yet? :iono: that's like a countdown to your wedding day when you have no significant other... just save and wait. have some faith to follow blindly hehehe

Well we already have our significantly other, the Camaro, and we have heard that a q4 2008 release date is realistic. I would be willing to be that it will be out by then.

It was just a thought.

How about the day production begins for now? Then when the release date is given change it?

stevenm357 07-31-2007 07:27 PM

darknight that sounds like a winner. when will they debut the production model for public viewing ? that would be another cool date for a count down.

I have a 5th Gen Countdown on my MySpace, but I used 1-1-08 since 1st Quarter '08 is the current official release info.

Mr. Wyndham 08-01-2007 01:44 PM

Don't you mean 1-1-09? Because yours would mean it'll be released in less than 4 months...
