Whining Thread
Yup, I know pointless thread. I'm bored.
Well once again, GM/Chevy comes out with the perfect car for me the Z/28 and no way will I be able to afford it. I always wanted a factory street legal track car from GM. You gotta pay to play and quality comes with the price. I'm no way complaining about the price bracket above $55K. I know the price have not been released yet but reading between the lines it will be a big penny. I just hope GM don't go overbord on the pricing. Looks like a used C6 Z06 is what I'm going to have to shoot for. Good for your folks that will be able to afford one. Have fun with it. |
For those that want a track-able budget-conscious Camaro, please let me reintroduce the 1LE...plain, fancy, in-between...
|
The 1LE is ok. :D
BTW everybody that wants a Z/28 can have one. Chevy will build as many as are ordered... so says Reuss. |

If you want the stripped down, start with a 2014 1SS/non-RS 1LE. Strip it yourself and sell off the parts. Use the money from parts sold to buy upgrades. I'm sure once the Z28 hits the street, the body parts are going to get copied left and right on the aftermarket. You can build the SS into a z/28 clone pretty easily. You'll just be missing the engine and brakes. You can build the LS3 to meet the 500hp number of the Z/28 and as far as the brakes go, do you need $10k carbon brakes or would a set of drill/slotted rotors and high preformance pads be enough, or even a big brake kit? You might eventually end up near $50k invested, but you can spend it at your owe pace over years.

They have 84-month car loans now. If a Z28 costs 65,000.00 and you put down 10,000. Your car payment could be as low as 700.00 a month. (with 2 percent interest financing which can be found at credit unions). Just save up a huge down payment if you really want one.
700.00 a month or even 800.00 a month is cheap for something like a ZL-1 or a Z28. And you can always keep refinancing it to help lower the payment later on. There are ways where anyone can buy this car if you truly really want it. |
It's easy for everyone to say just get a 1le when the Z/28 has the looks to match the performance. The looks mean as much to me as the performance.
|
Thats what modding is for, drive a cammed one and you might change your mind! These cars like the 1le and z28 are based of the SS, there for an SS can be easily built just like them and even better! No big deal, but I do get wanting this z28... I want one myself!

...Z/28 is too rich for my blood, so is the ZL1, 1LE and Converitble 2SS... .....I'm not whining about it at all.... |
too bad it can't be simple like:
1) pick box for coupe or convertible 2) pick box for tranny you want 3) pick box for what engine you want (any engine including the LS7) 4) pick box for power/manual seats 5) pick box for exact stereo you want 6) pic box if you WANT ceramic brake discs 7) pic box if you WANT coolers on the tranny and rear end 8) solid axle or IRS 9) pick any color you want 10) pick suspension package you want 11) pick exhaust you want If you could do this, then you could create your OWN truly collectable car but you can't do that. If too many people want LS7 or LSA engines, then they should just be forced to wait for the car since it takes longer to hand build those engines but they should just give you what you want. If it takes longer and costs more to make a custom car, then let GM charge a FEE for that. People will still PAY IT. |
