2012 Camaro Bluetooth Q

Hello Everyone,

Last week I got my new ride but I had a question, Hands-free Bluetooth is now standard in the 2012, can you stream music from my Iphone to the stereo, or do you need the CC Package to do that?

I will post pictures very soon, I know the "this thread is worthless w/o pics is coming :)

You should be able to yes. Check your owners manual to be sure.

Select Aux input, hit menu, and you should be able to add/switch to bluetooth media.

Yes it works great, there are a few YouTube vids on it. Takes all but a min to set it up. Just push aux on the radio, menue, select device and pair your phone for a second time to stream music.

On your iPhone under General>Bluetooth, once you have set up phone and streaming through your Camaro's head unit, two 'Devices' will be listed:

'Your Vehicle' for using the phone function
'GMusicConnect' for streaming music

So it's like setting up two devices. It's all in the manual, but not the easiest to find.

does it sound like crap? can't imagine it sounding anywhere nearly as good as just plugging it in via AUX cord.

When I tried streaming by bluetooth it sounded awful.
Every time I've streamed by an aux cable it has sounded awful (haven't even tried in the Camaro)

iPod connected via USB. That's my setup.

When I stream Pandora from my Droid it sounds great. Of course, I've also upgraded the speakers in my Camaro.

I actually tried playing a game and watching a movie on my iPhone while the audio was playing over Bluetooth in my '10 Camaro. The audio was losing it's sync. It lagged behind what was happening on screen. Just playing music was fine, but not the best quality. In my car, I prefer using a small 8GB flash drive and leaving it plugged into the USB port. It's all the music you could want and at perfect quality. It also shows file info like artist, track, album, etc. Basically, Bluetooth for music and aux jacks kinda suck compared to a USB cable or flash drive.

Bluetooth calls is perfect though, forgot to mention that.

What bugs me about the bluetooth streaming is that you have to use the phone to initiate music play. For those of us who keep the phone in our pocket, it makes it far less functional. What is needed is a "play" button on the stereo to initiate bletooth music streaming.

Or am I missing something?
