Anyone installed a Seibon Carbon roof?

Has anyone around Houston (Or just Texas) has a Seibon carbon fiber roof installed on their car?

Any body shop can install the panel. Is this a cosmetic add or a performance weight reduction mod for you?

I'll just say yes to both. I obviously don't know much about the level of difficulty it is to install the roof, but to me the job looks quite intimidating.

I know you're pretty far out there, but I've talked a few times with JJ Auto Body (LINK) about a new paint job, and installing hex vents on my '11. The dudes there are SUPER nice, and the one time that I stopped by their shop, they had some disgustingly awesome cars in there getting body work and/or paint done.

Prices are probably a bit more than other shops, but judging from the cars that were in this place in various states of progress, I could tell this place does good work...and as you've told me in a few different threads, sometimes it's worth the added expense to know that it's being done right the first time...

thanks! Yeah, this is def something that I need to be confident in the person's abilities that will be cutting my roof off and replacing it! I will go talk to them about it.

They won't be cutting your roof off. The will use a special drill bit, sort of a hole saw, drilling / cutting the material around the spot welds that hold the center section in place. Once they hit all the spot welds the center section lifts off. They will grind the spot welds flat. The new section will be set in place using panel bond.

Is your rood section glossy with gel coat or a pre-preg ' dry' layup?
