In addition to the axles from DSS, are you going to do anything to the Diff... You might check into the Janetty bigger diff caps and clutch fix for those one wheels burnouts... Are you going to change the oil pump....Melling high volume??? I'm supposing that since the short block is assembled, and you already have a cam, that the gears and chains all match... and are you going to use a new timing chain... Plugs, wires etc... Looks like you have most of it covered.... While you have it apart, take a close look at the center carrier on the drive shaft... You've had some power to yours for a while...Mine was showing signs of wear... My new DSS 3.5 inch one piece is going in this week, along with the 9" kit... Replace the bolts for the drive shaft while it's out... There have been enough problems that it's good insurance... and I don't ever recommend reusing them...in fact, I think GM list them as a one time use bolt... Go ahead and order a drive shaft loop while you're under there... Order a remote bleeder line for the trans slave cylinder...Mine is about three feet long and allows for clutch bleeding without ever getting under the car... It screws onto the fitting at the bell housing and tucks in behind the master cylinder... It is so convenient, I'm surprised GM doesn't do this from the factory... These are a few things I can think of off hand... If I come up with any others I'll let you know... ohh, are you going with the factory harmonic balancer or are you going with a performance piece... I still need to order one... just haven't done it yet... If you have any concerns about the output shaft/support bearing on the transmission, let me know, and I'll put you in touch with the guys I ordered mine from...You might also change to all carbon fiber synchros and upgraded blockers if you have any trouble with gear grinding... |
pretty amazing buddy. cannot wait to see why this goes together.
when do you plan on doing the 1400hp axels.... I have a set for you.... once I get the DSS 9in this summer. |
