Revving without foot on the gas

Hello guys. I got a 2016 ss auto. If I hit the gas in park lightly the car will rev after I take my feet off the gas and stay in 2k rpm for about 30 seconds! Does anyone else have this problem?

Cold, or warm engine?

Reviving without foot on the gas
Reviving:

1. To bring back to life or consciousness; resuscitate: revived the passenger who fainted.
2. To give new health, strength, or spirit to: was revived by the long shower; a speech that revived morale.

I'm not sure we've seen this problem before, that's a very talented car you have there :pound:

Happened to me as well. Started reving the engine and rev got stuck at about 2k rpm. Turned engine off right away. Not sure what it is.

I would, but since i have nothing of use to add to the revving issue I thought I'd pile on the reviving issue. And frankly, i thought I was quite funny.

The fact that someone else popped up within hours after the thread was posted saying "yeah I get this too" is pretty concerning, I wonder what it could be

I was gonna guess cold engine, not sure what the temps are like in Atlanta...looks like 36 Degrees today...so maybe just cold engine.

OP...if it was cold out...don't worry about it, just the engine wanting to warm up.

There...I hope i've done my good deed for the day.

2K seems a bit high though...are you sure it's not like 1500?

Could the car be thinking you trying to use launch control?

bybcous 01-19-2016 05:08 PM

Could this be why my car took off one day at a pretty fast pace without me touching the pedal.

I'm sorry.... But did you immediately take the car to a dealer? If ANY car just "took off", I would probably even TOW it to my nearest dealer.
