2011 Chevrolet Camaro

What is it?

The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro is the American automaker’s red, white and blue-collar muscle car. Although the Camaro is available with a choice of V-6 or V-8 engines, sticking to our $25,000 price ceiling means you’ll have to opt for a less powerful model.

In the case of the Camaro, though, making do with the base 312-bhp 3.6-liter V-6 is hardly what we’d call a performance sacrifice. It’s plenty quick for daily driving. An entry-level Camaro LS comes with cruise control, power front seats, power windows and air conditioning, all for approximately $23,500. That leaves room in your budget for essentials, like optional racing stripes!

Why is it hot?

Introduced last year as a 2010 model, the Camaro still looks like a wild concept car. From its menacing blacked-out grille to its bulging rear fenders, American muscle cars don’t get any better looking than this.

Just don’t expect to see much of the outside world from behind the wheel. The Camaro’s low greenhouse looks cool, but it has blind spots big enough to hide a bowling alley. At least the steel wheels on the base model will be cheaper to fix if you hit a curb.

+1 :word: It's always nice to see more positives in an acticle than those that are negative. I agree with the comments (except the blind spot big enough to hide a bowling alley).. Blind spot is enough explanation IMO.. But overall accurate.

sangerbanger58 08-11-2010 11:35 AM

nope, sometimes i drive around town just 2 get ppl 2 look at my car

96CAMaro 08-11-2010 01:38 PM

I would have to agree on one fore sure, maybe two. The Camaro is a head turner and maybe the genesis. IMVHO

lets_go_bills 08-11-2010 01:40 PM

If you ask me, the Camaro is THE top head turner regardless of price.

WHIPPLECHARGED 08-11-2010 01:44 PM

Thats right:chevy:. One more reason to own one.

Right, I don't really see a better looking car on the road now, excluding the exotics

ViperTomcat 08-11-2010 01:57 PM

Nice!

It certainly does catch attention. It will surely fade in the upcoming months and years, but for now..ROCK ON

I'm happy to see the Mustang also is on the list!

rikelme90 08-11-2010 02:14 PM

yes and then the the little kids saying"bumble bee" or other people saying "batmobile"
it feels good seeing people admire your car, especially since it wasn't expensive!!

ghazzi1397 08-11-2010 02:23 PM

Woohoo :w00t:

could nt agree more

tooslow 08-11-2010 02:33 PM

I'm not sure there is anything there to brag about. What does it really say about the Mustang and the Camaro when they are mentioned in the same breath with a Volkswagen, a Hyundai and a Kia?

GTI baby...........German Engineering....Cause We Hot...........The Original Hot Hatch

The Genesis is a nice sports car,GTI isn't a "sports car" but it's sporty, classy interior...no plastic and it is fast not as fast as a Camaro but don't let the "hatchback" look fool ya...........and it did say under $25,000.....I would be skeptical if they had put a Challenger in there...they don't cost under $25,000..........even if they were stripped.

SSchizomaniac 08-11-2010 02:38 PM

camaros give me a boner. just sayin...

I do that too lol

Berean 08-11-2010 03:22 PM

The Volkswagen Golf must have been chosen because it turns heads away.

jshaf 08-11-2010 03:31 PM

didn't think the LS came with power seats? and while it does have a sizable blind spot you can adjust your mirrors to take most of that away IMO.

kagenish 08-11-2010 04:03 PM

nice

Richochet83 08-11-2010 04:07 PM

Best damn car on the road. I still turn my head even when I see one while I'm driving my own.

Chronomaro 08-11-2010 04:51 PM

Whats funny is they say under $25k but then they show a picture of an SS on the front of the article.

FC_GIBB 08-11-2010 04:59 PM

this car is bad ass, and you get used to the gigantor blind spots.... kind of

Especially if you adjust your mirrors! :D

John Shields 08-11-2010 05:09 PM

Call me confused... but what is all this talk about blindspots? I don't have a single inch that I can't see by properly using my rearview mirror, side mirrors and turning my head 90 degrees. I think people complaining about this aren't doing something right.

Your neck breaks on certain days? Taking a quick peek on all sides (or to whichever side you're changing lanes to) is easy. The only valid complaint of the Camaro I'll entertain... two actually... is the passenger adjustment or lack thereof... and the small deep angled windshield. I can see why people complain about those two things, even if it doesn't affect me.

Mr.Magoo 08-11-2010 06:45 PM

25K? Then my 2SS/RS at 43K should make people do a double take! (almost)

Inuyashas_Brother 08-11-2010 06:45 PM

Yeah, I saw the Yahoo article yesterday. They had the Camaro listed first :w00t:

But then somewhere below... mustang :barf:

camarolt76 08-11-2010 06:48 PM

Good to see that the V6 is getting its due as well. A person at my workplace just bought a V6 1LT last night with 19" polished wheels, rally stripes, and automatic transmision last night. Until then I was the only person at my workplace with a Camaro. I have to say that for the price the V6 Camaro is hard to beat!

lol actually it's an RS V6, but point taken.. it costs more than $25K.

5thGenOwner 08-11-2010 06:57 PM

headturner = whiplash

My Camaro not only turns heads, but if you are a passenger, be weary of whiplash! Hold on tight!!

changprice 08-11-2010 07:00 PM

that's really nice  :happyanim:
