I am in high school and drive my Camaro every day. Obviously it caused quite a stir last year when I got it but by now everyone knows its mine and is very respectful. I am walking from second to third period today and a kid who I know but haven't talked to in a while pulls me to he side of the hallway. He is just like "I am so sorry, I was in the lot this morning and scraped you car" ... And I'm like oh man how bad. I thought he was walking by and like scraped it with his key or something :iono: but NO!! He scraped my car with his CAR pulling into the spot next to me. Now I'm pretty upset, not mad but almost sad in a weird way. he is really nice and was honestly sorry but it just sucks. He is going to pay for it out of pocket so his insurance doesn't go up but what a sad day it has become.

Sorry for the bad picture format. My phone doesn't like posting pics.

Him manning up and letting you know was pretty good, if you ask me.

SNK 11-01-2012 09:01 AM

Yeah. He's really nice and honest.

Better get the insurance info just in case. You aren't fixing that for a couple hundred bucks like he thinks.

Make sure your resource officer or front office does a report, and get all the kids information.

At least he confessed to it. Most people at my H.S. back when I went wouldn't have owned up to it.

+1 To both! With that being said, driving any nice car to highschool is like playing Russian Roulette. A bunch of inexperienced drivers all clammering into one area. :(

I swear these cars have "hit me" on them. My car was 1st 5th gen Camaro was in hit n run. Either they hit me parking or when they reversed.

Man that's pretty bad! Sorry to hear that. It is good he was honest about it. Hope he holds up to the $ part when the bill comes in.

heRS 11-01-2012 09:27 AM

Sounds like you got lucky, he was honest.

mac1903 11-01-2012 09:33 AM

yea...you will want to get his insurance info and everything just incase. Could be front facia/bumper and front side fender...Not sure what kind of money the kid is rolling with but I would guess it could easily cost $500 to replace/repair. I could be wrong though

mlee 11-01-2012 09:34 AM

Like others have said... you are very lucky. Instead of being mad at this guy, he should be your new friend.

Now go out and teach him how to drive...

two_wheel_mayhem 11-01-2012 09:37 AM

I was thinking $1000 or so.
