MBRP square tip installation on GM GFX diffuser

What all is involved with installing MBRP square exhaust tips on a car with the GM GFX diffuser? Do you have to remove the whole thing? If so, how do you do that. I imagine you have to cut the stock round tips off. How then do you insure you're installing the MBRP's just right so that they line up perfectly with the rectangular GFX bezels? :noidea:

no you do not need to take the rear kit off.. i did my under the car its very easy.. now if you have the stocktips.. then yeah.. you will need to cut them off. when i got mine i went ahead and bought their catback too.. so it was an easy install

Thanks for the reply but I don't quite understand the part I bolded. I have the GM GFX diffuser from the factory that has the round exhaust tips recessed a few inches into the metal bezels. Are those tips not welded on? I glanced under the car last evening and it all looked pretty hard to get to things.

ahh i see.. hmm i believe you will still have to cut the tips off.. or try removing the ring around the stock tip and see if they will fit right now.. if your GFX was from factory what they had to do was cut the tip in half and insert a ring around the tip to make it look better..
i know my catback is 3" wide and i was able to get the tip on under the car since its only a bolt on

Edit: this is what i found on other sites "these are made to bolt directly onto your existing 3in. Exhaust system or welded to your 2.5in. system."

They will require welding to a stock or 2.5 inch system. They will bolt up to a 3 inch system. You'll just have to tack them in place and then eyeball the tips to see if there where you want them and mounted evenly, then final weld them. I would recommend an exhaust shop handle this for. And yes, the factory tips will have to be cut off and you don't need to remove the rear bumper.
